Sunday and Monday at Wick Court Farm

Sunday at Wick Court saw the children attend a country fair and our young farming apprentices were charged with selling the farm produce including eggs, fruits vegetables, jams and juice. Everyone did extremely well at this and Ms Rhys Evans was especially impressed with Adam Mellah who has emerged as a natural salesman.

Today, the children were back to the rewarding but hard work of looking after the animals. Some of these jobs are a bit smelly such as collecting horse poo for manure, making compost and feeding the animals but everyone is having a wonderful time! The apple pressing is a real hit!

Wick Court Farm – Friday!

As a rather delayed time, our first group of farmers to visit Wick Court Farm have made up for lost time. Everyone has settled in well, met the animals they will be looking after and more importantly, eaten a hearty supper! Hopefully they also sleep well in the quiet countryside ready for a busy day tomorrow!

Relaxing at Wick Court

We’ve learnt that farmers get up early, that the animals need to be fed and watered before the farmers, that farmers work long hours (the last group finishes their jobs at 8pm!) and that the job is 365 days a year. We’ve also found out that Wick Court provides lots of games for us to play in our free time!

Wick Court – Tuesday

We’re well in to the flow now and fast becoming experts. When you’re covered head to toe the odd rain shower just slides off you and the rainbows one sees are that much better. We’ve also had a chance to practise our songs for our visit to Eastington tomorrow when we get to meet our buddies. This afternoon we get to see the bees and learn how honey is made!
