Stars of the Week!

Welcome back everybody after the holiday and Happy New Year!

Many of us have chosen some new year’s resolutions and clearly some children have done their best to keep them, helping them shine as the stars of the week!

Well done all of you and keep up the fantastic hard work.

Frost Fair

This afternoon, our Lant St. playground was the splendid venue for the fantastic Frost Fair.  There were many wintery goods on sale as well as a spectacular performance by the ukulele club and the choir who sung (and played) beautifully, creating a beautiful festive atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who came and especially those who helped organise or run the event.  It wouldn’t have happened without you!

KS1 Winter Show: Santa’s Hat

It has been a very busy week! KS1 performed their wonderful show on Wednesday and it was a elf-filled bonanza! It was a whirlwind of emotions as Santa thought he had lost his hat…  PLOT SPOILER – HE FOUND IT – PHEW!

Well done to everyone involved in KS1!

Pickwick Class Assembly

This week we were blown away by the amazing Maths Disco performed by Pickwick Class.  Both Key Stage 1 and 2 filed into the hall with whiteboards and pens and took part in an interactive display of maths methods to a sound track of Mr Huxley’s life.

We all thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next installment. Thank you and well done Pickwick!

Havisham Class Assembly

On Thursday morning, we were treated to a wonderful train ride through the rainforest.  We learnt all about the dangers that threaten the environment.  Not only did we see some amazing animals, we witnessed some brilliant singing and dancing!

Thank you so much Havisham for your excellent performance.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Last week we had a beautiful whole-school assembly to mark remembrance day. We were lucky to hear (and watch) poems read in French and English by children and teachers alike. We also observed a two minute silence and sung a wonderful song led by Ms Rhys-Evans.

This morning Nickleby Class performed a brilliant assembly about how and why we could be working to save the rainforest. There were special guest appearances from David Attenborough, Bear Grylls and Steve Backshall as well as many species from the rainforest!

Thank you and well done everybody involved!
