Charles Dickens at the Mini-Olympics!

Everyone from Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 went to the brilliant BOST Mini-Olympics off Union Street for a morning of different activities and experiences. The day started with a procession where every child walked through Olympic coloured hoops, around the arena and settled by the boxing ring. Following a boxing match between Miss Henderson and Mr MacKinnon every class performed their special Olympic sport song (each class has been looking at different sports) which included such classics ‘Row your boat’ and Queen’s ‘Bicycle Race’.

The children then took part in a long list of activities including basketball hoops, tennis, ping pong, hula hooping, hiding from the rain, space-hopper racing, badminton, sheltering from the rain, football, skipping, boxing, beach volleyball and sandcastle building! At the end of the morning we all gathered together for an awards ceremony celebrating sporting talent and sportsmanship. Each winner received a medal and a herb plant to remember the day.

Thank you to Tyrone and his team for running such a brilliant activity!
