A huge welcome awaits all local toddlers at our Under 5s morning – Saturday 6th October 10.30am – 12.00pm

We know that not everyone can manage to come and visit our school for our Tuesday school tours so we are having an ‘open day’ next Saturday 6th October for local young children and their families who want to find out more about our school.

You will have an opportunity to visit the foundation stage classrooms and the eco garden, plus have a chance to meet teachers and the Head of School. Most importantly, we hope the children will have lots of fun and maybe make some new friends.

Entry will be via the Lant Street playground gates.

See you all there and don’t forget to tell your friends!

  1. Is there any place vacant this year for Nov 2008 born child? I am under the impression that Southwark council allocates the places. Is there any way to improve the chances of my son getting admission with Charles Dickens School? What is the purpose of this open day since it is not in the hands of parents to choose school effectively because of over subscription etc.

    1. Dear Vikas, you are correct that Southwark manage our admissions and apply their over subscription criteria when required. Your child will be eligible to start school next Sept so you will need to apply for places via Southwark. Our nursery is currently full. The purpose of the morning is to allow families who wish to visit the school but who work in the week, a chance to meet teachers and other parents. Choosing a school is a big decision so we like to ensure we make time for families to see if it ‘feels right’ for their child – we hope events like this help! It is also supposed to be a way of helping children and families meet new friends. We hope to see you there!
