Well done to our squad of gymnasts from years 5 and 6 on representing Southwark at the London Youth Games, held yesterday at Crystal Palace.
Brea, Sara, Deniz, Deborah, Amy and Thomas all performed in the floor work and vaulting competitions against some very stiff opposition from all over London and Croydon. Everyone put in 100% effort and we were extremely proud of each of them.
We were placed 9th out of 29 teams in the vaulting section, which we think is very impressive given the school has only been teaching gymnastics for a short while. We now have a target to beat for next year.
Whilst we were at the games, we saw some amazing sport including diving ( see photos), athletics, swimming, tennis, football and dance! It was very inspirational to see young people competing at such a high level.
