Ms Roberts arrives in Malawi

‘After a 24 hour journey I’ve arrived safe and sound staying in beautiful Nkhata Bay with a great view of Lake Malawi. The sun is shining, the view is amazing and I’ve just finished a very delicious giant banana pancake!'(Ms Roberts)

Ms Roberts is currently staying here! We are all very jealous but she is starting work at Iponga Primary School on Monday.

If you want to follow Ms Roberts’ travels – make sure you look at the school blog over the half term holiday!

Ms Roberts’ Trip To Our Partner School – Iponga School in Malawi

Ms Roberts has boarded her plane to Malawi – she is spending 2 weeks working in Iponga Primary School in Malawi as part of our partnership with them. She has taken lots of photographs, letters and drawing from the children at Charles Dickens Primary School as well as toys, games and stationary – we hope Ms Roberts will bring back lots of experiences and ideas to enrich life at Charles Dickens School even more! We will be writing about her adventures as we hear from her – telephone networks permitting.

If you have anything you would like Ms Roberts to ask to children at Iponga or suggestions for her time in Malawi, please do comment!

Charles Dickens Primary has applied to be recognised for it’s international projects with a British Council International School Award – watch this space for news and speak to Ms Adams if you have any ideas or ways to support our ‘global citizenship’

More about Iponga Primary School

Iponga Primary School in the Karonga District of Malawi has given the pupils of our school an amazing opportunity to learn first-hand about the lives of children in that beautiful country.

Our children exchange letters with their pen pals and have found out a good deal about the successful bio-diversity garden that Iponga school maintains. We were fortunate to be able to host two teachers from Iponga School at Charles Dickens in 2011, and we hope to continue developing this partnership.
