Today, we are starting the week with a little maths quiz! As I explain in the video, this is just to support me in continuing to plan fun and engaging maths lessons and so that I can better support the children with things we need to keep practicing. Remember, every child is different and they progress at different rates, so it is perfectly OK for them to be finding certain things tricky – that is what we are here for!

We are looking at the bouncy ‘up jellies’ pattern for our handwriting and focusing on the letter ‘c’. Feel free to practise the pattern with colourful crayons or pencils and on a larger scale to get those fingers warmed up!

Here is your next number bonds lesson Reception! Today, you will need 10 small objects, pieces of lego or building blocks which you can use to count. We will be practicing making number bonds to 10 with our objects and then we will be drawing them. I can’t wait to see photos of your learning today!

Well done for all of your hard work on number bonds so far Reception! Today, we will be writing our number bonds to 10. I wonder if you can turn them into number sentences too? Don’t forget, you can keep using your 10 pieces of lego, small objects or building blocks to help with this as it is tricky!
I have created a template for you here to either print or simply draw at home for your children to work on. If they would like even more number bonds challenges they can also complete page 17 from the Adding and Subtracting Book, which is also here if you don’t have your workbook.
