Daily Message

Hello everyone, we were so impressed with the lovely photos of you reading in cosy or funny places that we want to keep the reading campaign going! Please send us a short video showing us the book you’re reading at the moment and tell us one thing about it – it could be what the story is about, why you like it or who you’d recommend it to.

Today, you are doing English, Maths, Science and Dance. Don’t forget you’ve also got your weekly time capsule activity and the live Maths worksheets this week.

We are starting a new unit on Lines and Shapes.

You will be completing Lesson 1 of Chapter 13 pages 161 – 164 in your workbooks, which is identifying perpendicular lines (two straight lines that meet at a right angle). You will be identifying perpendicular lines in a picture, angles, shapes and letters.

Hello year 3 and welcome to Wednesday Wildlife watch. You will be taking photos or drawing pictures of all the wildlife you see around your area (birds, insects, squirrels etc). Many of you have completed the maths live worksheets based on subtraction and addition. We were so impressed with how much you remembered. Well done!!

Today, you are doing English (Muncle Trogg), handwriting, Maths (finding vertical and Horizontal lines), Art (Jean-Michel Basquiat’s painting ‘red rabbit’). Enjoy and make sure you keep sending in your completed work.

Last week’s answer to the riddle: Where can you find cities, towns, shops, and streets but no people? Answer: Maps. We had many of you who went in your answers. Well Done!!
Don’t forget to have a go at solving today’s riddle in the middle of the week: What kind of room has no doors and windows?

You will be describing each of the shapes using the vocabulary that we have been learning: Obtuse, Acute, Right Angle, Perpendicular lines, Horizontal lines, Vertical lines, Quadrilateral, Vertices.

We’re taking a short break from Fitness Friday to set you a different sort of challenge! The Summer Reading Challenge is back and this year’s theme is fun, silliness and giggles. TIME CAPSULE ACTIVITY

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the Time Capsule Project over the last 7 weeks. Your future selves will thank you! Take some time to reflect on the activities you have completed and remember that you can still add to your capsule as the weeks go on and record your personal histories.

You might want to think back to your ‘Everyday Heroes’ activities, record new skills you are learning and interview family members and friends from different households.

Like Basquiat we’ll be combining it with writing too, a lot like a sketchbook, layering oil pastels over felt tip pens.
