Year 3 Virtual School

29 June 2020

Daily Message

Welcome to another week of virtual school Year 3! This week in English we are starting a new book: ‘King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table’. The book is written and illustrated in a comic strip style and is a great example of a well-produced children’s comic. Parents and carers, there are lots of brilliant comics made for children which can help develop their language in a fun, visually exciting way. Some of the best known children’s comics are The Phoenix and The Beano. You can also listen to a very interesting BBC interview with children’s author Michael Rosen about the language of comics here. There are also lots of fun websites like www.stripgenerator.com which you can use to make your own comic strips really easily.

Today, you are doing English (Guided Reading), Maths (starting a new unit on perimeter in figures), Science (air pollution) and Dance with Delene. Enjoy and keep your emails, photos and videos coming – we love seeing the brilliant work you’re doing at home. Happy birthday to Tomi, we hope you have a wonderful day celebrating!
