Welcome to another week of virtual school Year 3! We loved the limericks you wrote during your handwriting lesson last week and hope you enjoy hearing a few of them this morning!

Today, you are doing English (Guided Reading), Maths (perimeter in figures), Science (air pollution) and Dance with Delene. Enjoy and keep your emails, photos and videos coming – we love seeing the brilliant work you’re doing at home!

We are continuing with perimeter in figures. You will be completing Lesson 6 of Chapter 14 pages 195 – 196 in your workbooks, which is to calculate the perimeter of 2D shapes. You will be calculating the perimeter of objects on a 1 m grid. You will be using the methods they you have been learning. Click here for the video that will guide you through.

We are continuing with perimeter in figures. You will be completing Lesson 7 of Chapter 14 pages 197 – 198 in your workbooks, which is to measure the perimeter of 2D shapes.

You will be finding the perimeter of different shapes using different methods (including addition, addition and multiplication and just multiplication).

Today we are looking at how comic strips (like those in ‘King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table’) are used to tell stories, then using drama to help us create a timeline of the events in the King Arthur story.

Hello year 3 and welcome back to Wednesday Wildlife watch. We are celebrating all your wildlife pictures today. We have had a great response. Keep sending them in!!

English (King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table), handwriting, Maths (Solve perimeter word problems), Art (Yinka Shonibare inspired hand butterflies). Enjoy and make sure you keep sending in your completed work.

Last week’s answer to the riddle: What has legs but doesn’t walk? Answer: A table. We had many of you who sent in your answers. Well Done!! Don’t forget to have a go at solving today’s riddle in the middle of the week: If an electric train is travelling south, which way is the smoke going? (This fits in with your science unit).

Hello Year 3, this is the last Avocado Watch of this year as we are doing something a bit different for our final Friday message next week. Ms Jacobs is so happy to report that her avocado has a small stalk now so it won’t be long until she is able to pot it! Please keep going with the challenge over the summer – Ms Jacobs wants lots of updates on how your avocados are doing when we’re back in school in September.

Today you are doing English, Maths, Wellbeing and RE. Well done for continuing to work so hard on your learning! Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend when the time comes.
