Today we are starting our new unit on Fractions.

You will be completing Lesson 1 of Chapter 11 in your workbooks. The focus of this lesson will be counting in tenths.

You’ve planned out your setting and characters, you’ve made notes on the beginning, middle and end… Today is the day for writing up then editing your full enchanted forest story! Watch the lesson video to hear about the success criteria for your writing. We can’t wait to see your final versions!

Today is also handwriting day – Y3 handwriting 2.04 for a copy of the worksheet if you don’t have one. Remember to copy out two lines of each word in your handwriting books.

Good morning Year 3!

Today, is fitness Friday!! Make sure you join in with Joe Wicks and Ms Fraser. Over the next two weeks there is going to be an exciting holiday school, where you will be doing lots of fun activities such as art, dance, pop up book making, cooking and more.

We would also like you to create your own enchanted forest in a shoe box. You will have two weeks to complete this project. We can’t wait to see lots of pictures. There’s another lovely example of one below made by Ms Smith’s housemate!

We would like to wish happy birthdays for over Easter to: Sienna (5 April), Isabella (8 April) who are both turning 8 – have a lovely time!

Finally, we couldn’t resist sharing a special 3D animal collage with you, featuring Ms Nowell’s vegetarian emperor penguin and a brown bear coming for Mrs Worley’s laptop… enjoy! Use a phone to Google search the name of an animal and click ‘View in 3D’ to have a go yourself!

You will need one sheet of plain A4 paper, a pair of scissors, a ruler and a pencil, so have those bits ready before following along with the lesson video.
