It’s the second day of the second week of our virtual school. Thank you to everyone for being so enthusiastic about all of the learning. Remember to read every day – you can record your thoughts and progress in your school planner or your home learning book. Try reading to someone, they will love to hear a story and you will improve your reading skills (and character voices perhaps!).

Daily Message

Halfway through the week already! Thanks so much to all the parents and children for all your incredibly positive feedback, it really motivates us!

Today you can look forward to studying the second chapter of Oliver and the Sea Wigs, a book that just gets stranger and funnier with every page. I promise you won’t be able to predict what comes next in the book, but we’d love to hear your suggestions!

As always, remember to keep on reading – we would love to hear of any books you’re particularly enjoyed, and share them as recommendations to the rest of Year 4.

There’s also Times Table Rockstars to practise, even just ten minutes a day can make a huge difference. If you need a reminder of your logins for any of our online learning, just drop us an email.

Climb aboard! We’re going on an adventure to find Oliver’s parents. Who will we meet on the way? Watch the video to see what happens in Chapter Two.

Your task is to draw the characters from the chapter and use the best adjectives to describe them. Use a thesaurus to help you improve your word choices.

Daily Message

Happy Thursday! Did you manage to pull off any funny April Fool jokes on your family yesterday? If so, we’d love to hear about them!

In Maths today, you will continue your learning on comparing and ordering decimals. In English, you will be guided on how to write a book review! This is a great chance to share any great books you’ve been reading recently – send us your reviews and we’ll read some out in future daily videos. Maybe your review will encourage one of your friends to read your book!

You have all been sending so much amazing work – keep it coming! We hope you have enjoyed seeing it celebrated in our videos and we can’t wait to share more. Keep it up!
