Welcome back everybody after the holiday and Happy New Year!
Many of us have chosen some new year’s resolutions and clearly some children have done their best to keep them, helping them shine as the stars of the week!
Well done all of you and keep up the fantastic hard work.
This afternoon, our Lant St. playground was the splendid venue for the fantastic Frost Fair. There were many wintery goods on sale as well as a spectacular performance by the ukulele club and the choir who sung (and played) beautifully, creating a beautiful festive atmosphere.
Thank you to everyone who came and especially those who helped organise or run the event. It wouldn’t have happened without you!
Well done this this week’s stars and friends of the week! You, as always, were all brilliant last week so it could have been anyone! Keep up the hard work everyone and, next week, it could be YOU!
Wow – last week we were treated to shows galore! Year 3 and 4 had a jam packed schedule with two sell out shows, performed at both 2 and 6 pm. Both performances were absolutely breath-taking! Well done to everyone in Years 3 and 4. It was a total delight to be part of and we are already excited to see what next year will bring!
Well done!
Today a group of intrepid explorers, from years 2 and 3, visited Vauxhall City Farm and learnt about lots of different animals looked after there. The children had a brilliant time stroking and feeding goats, rabbits, chicks, hens, roosters, alpacas and many more! We had a wonderful time and we can’t wait to go back!
WOW! This week, year 3/4 went on an incredible trip to Butser Ancient Farm.
This term, Year 3/4 have been learning about life between the Stone Age and Iron Age. We got to experience life between these times. On arrival we sat down in a smoky, Celtic round house which had an open fire in the middle! We were able to take part in wattling, chalk carving and cordage as well as digging for historical artefacts.
Thank you to all of the parents who were able to come.
This week we were blown away by the amazing Maths Disco performed by Pickwick Class. Both Key Stage 1 and 2 filed into the hall with whiteboards and pens and took part in an interactive display of maths methods to a sound track of Mr Huxley’s life.
We all thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next installment. Thank you and well done Pickwick!
Last week we had a beautiful whole-school assembly to mark remembrance day. We were lucky to hear (and watch) poems read in French and English by children and teachers alike. We also observed a two minute silence and sung a wonderful song led by Ms Rhys-Evans.
Well done to everyone who won a Star of the Week or friend of the week certificate! We only have a picture of Key Stage 1 but look how happy they look to have been picked!
Fantastic work everyone and let’s all keep it up!
