Summerson Class Dickensian Assembly

This morning Key Stage Two were treated to a wonderful medley of excerpts from Charles Dickens novels. We saw scenes spectacularly acted out from David Copperfield, Oliver and Little Dorrit!

We also heard some brilliant brilliant songs including a stunning solo by Amiah.

Can you remember any of the facts they told us about Charles Dickens’ life?

Oliver Class Assembly

Wow! This morning we were treated to a wonderful assembly by Oliver Class.

We learnt all about the extraordinary discoveries made by Mary Anning and the outstanding contribution she made to science.

We found out that she found a fossilised Ichthyosaur in the cliffs of Lyme Regis in Dorset as well as many more important discoveries.

Well done everyone and we can’t wait for your next assembly!

Year 3/4 at the Natural History Museum

This week, years 3 and 4 visited the world famous Natural History Museum. This term, we have been learning all about fossils and dinosaurs. We were incredibly lucky to see many of Mary Anning’s most famous discoveries and we also disovered some dinosaur fossils of our own.

We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to go on our next school trip!

Thank you to all of the teachers and parents that helped us go on our visit.

House Captain Election Fever

Today has been a wonderful day for democracy. As you will all know, every year we elect new house captians from years 5 and 6.

The candidates, today, gave speeches help win themselves votes in the election. The whole school was then invited to the register their votes. We had a record turnout with children voting in their droves!

All of the candidates, and voters, will have to endure the wait over the weekend while the votes are counted and verified. We expect we will be able to give the results on Monday!

Fingers crossed for all of you and good luck!

See you on the other side.

Magic Carpet Drawing!

This week, during Creative Arts Week, all children were able to design and transpose their images onto the concrete building site to create a giant magic carpet. It looked amazing! A huge thank you to Sara and Mr Yusuf, our resident artists and a special thank you to Morgan Sindall Group PLC for granting us access to the site!

Have a look at the brilliant video we captured of it!
