All Together Now – Remembrance Assembly

The children and staff of Charles Dickens Primary School came together today for a special remembrance assembly commemorating 99 years since Armistice Day. Children across the school read their own poems on the themes of war, peace, loss and togetherness. Dedications to the dead were read in English and French and the children sang a moving rendition of The Farm’s ‘All Together Now’.

Beowulf Calling! – Barkis Class Assembly

The class assemblies continue to impress this year and today Barkis Class raised the bar even higher with a stunning Beowulf-themed assembly. Parents and children were treated to expressive dancing, terrific acting and a truly incredible monster. The children even sang their own songs, inspired by The Clash!

Fezziwig Class Assembly!

Congratulations to everyone in Fezziwig Class for performing a stunning historical class assembly today. The theme was Sir Francis Drake and his circumnavigation of the globe. A big thank you to the parents for the fantastic costumes and well done to the children for learning their lines so quickly. Also a massive thank you to Miss Alcock for her hard work and wonderful script!

Shakespeare Schools’ Festival 2017

Last night, twenty eight of our Year Four and Five pupils took to the stage of the Greenwich Theatre in order to perform their interpretation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. The children have been working extremely hard since the start of term, coming together to create an ensemble performance of Shakespeare’s comedy. We were amazed by how the children – the night’s youngest performers – were able to portray the complex, interwoven storylines with confidence and panache! The children sang, danced and cartwheeled their way through a story of fairies, confused love triangles (or squares) and hopeless actors. We were extremely proud of each and everyone of the night’s performers – well done everyone!
