Yesterday, Years One and Two ventured all of the way to the rainforest! Well, not quite, but we did get as far as Kew Gardens, where we took part in a fascinating interactive walk and learned all about the plants that you might find in a rainforest. We saw many different species of plants and learnt about ‘drip tips’ which help to prevent the plants from becoming too wet; large leaves which catch the small amounts of sunlight on the dark forest floor; and lily pads which protect themselves from being eaten with their nasty spikes! We also visited a large ‘hive’ installation and had lots of fun in the outdoor playground and on the treetop walk. It was a great trip and everyone learned a lot – many thanks to the parents who came with us and made our visit possible!
Lovely! Thanks so much for taking the kiddoes on such a gorgeous trip!
