From caterpillar to chrysalis

Reception have enjoyed watching the hungry caterpillars consume their nutrients, grow, clamber to the top of their jar and build their chrysalis. They are now at a delicate stage where they can’t be moved and guests to the classroom are reminded to approach quietly by caring children. Following their investigations and writing based on minibeasts, the children are using rich vocabulary such as cocoon, caterpillar and chrysalis and have a brilliant understanding of life cycles.
