Year 5/6 at The Ragged School Museum

Year 5 and 6 are visiting The Ragged School Museum all this week. The children dressed up in their victorian outfits in readiness for ‘school’ led by their Victorian teacher. They were transported back to the 1860s to experience first-hand what Victorian schooling was really like!

After lessons, children went into a Victorian East End Kitchen, to explore changes to home and family in East London over time through object handling, roleplay and storytelling.

Even ragged school children need lunch and can’t resist a climbing frame as they all reflected that life was more fun in the 21st century.
