We welcome volunteers at Charles Dickens Primary School, and we aim to match the needs of the school with the skills and interests of the volunteer. We ask the volunteers to commit to a week, a fortnight or ideally a regular weekly time slot so that teachers can plan and prepare for their visit. Priority will be given to parents and those who are studying or training to work in a school setting. Parents will not work in the same class as a child or relative. Volunteers support the class teacher and will not be asked to work alone with children. Volunteers will be asked to provide:
- A completed ‘Volunteering at Charles Dickens School’ form
Information about the requirements of their course and placement
- A CV
- A list 99 clearance
- At the end of the one-month probationary period for volunteers, there will be a meeting to review the volunteers contribution.
If you wish to volunteer, please contact the school office.
